It’s always great to see people doing something positive about butt littering at a very local level.
A group of Sunshine Coast women has become so concerned with the number of butts being dropped on their local beaches they are taking action. They have made a pact to collect butts from Coast beaches, waterways and drains for an entire month. In the first week only they have picked up more than 3,000 along the Maroochy River, Cotton Tree Park, Mooloolaba & Coolum beaches and storm drain near Nambour Hospital.
Keep up the great work Suzie, Alex & Heather. Let’s hope you have started a trend that others will follow. Importantly let’s hope others stop dropping them in the first place! To read more, click here.
